Governance

IKL has a robust governance system, supported by a functioning structure which includes: 1). General Assembly of IKL Members and Supporters; 2) International Advisory Board, 3). Executive Committee, and 4). Project Implementation Teams. The processes and authority for their establishment, functions and relationship can be found in the IKL Constitution and Strategic Plan.

As reflected in the governance framework, IKL decisions are deliberative, participatory, transparent, and accountable to its members and supporters, which are in turn responsive and accountable to the Indigenous Peoples we serve. All decisions of IKL will be based on the principle of consensus and informed by the Indigenous Peoples’ realities.
