Project 2

Transforming climate adaptation practices and policies in Nepal and Bangladesh.

This project aims to investigate Indigenous Women in Climate Action by analysing Indigenous women’s Knowledges, Practices, and Innovations (KPI) in Nepal and Bangladesh for gender transformative climate adaptation. Objectives are:

  • Review global climate policies to examine the extent of inclusion of Indigenous women’s KPI.
  • Map and explore Indigenous Women’s perceptions and knowledge of climate change, its impacts, and risks over the past three decades.
  • Analyse climate adaptation practices and innovations of Indigenous women in response to climate extremes.
  • Develop and pilot a set of principles and a new framework for Indigenous women-led climate adaptation.
  • Build the capacity of stakeholders to integrate Indigenous women’s KPI to climate adaptation decisions at local, national, and global levels.
