Catalysing South Asian Diaspora Network in Australia (SADNA)

South Asian diaspora is growing rapidly in Australia, bringing unique cultural, linguistic, racial, and economic assets to Australia’s society. Australia has championed multicultural, diversity and inclusion policies for decades. Effective inclusion and integration of the South Asian diaspora will not only contribute to prosperity and social stability of Australian communities, but also provide a stronger bridge between Australia and Asia in the rapidly changing international context. Yet, there are growing concerns that the South Asian communities are persistently marginalised by the wider politics in Australia. The issue is the lack of a divisive diaspora community not voicing (or unable to voice) their concerns and aspirations effectively. The goal of this Network is to create an empowering forum for productive conversations and knowledge sharing among community representatives, academics, and political leaders of South Asian background. It aims to foster the collective voice, unity, and influence of the South Asian diaspora in Australian politics and society.
